The Department of Nursing of KIWU foster professional nurses who practice love for humankind with sharing and volunteering based on a benevolent personality while ensuring the prevention of diseases, keeping patients in good health, and promoting healthy lifestyle. As one of the top departments of KIWU, the department boasts of a high ratio of students passing the national nurse certificate examination (100% for 3 years from 2013 to 2015) and an excellent employment rate since its establishment. The national top scorer of the 48th national nurse certificate exam in 2009 was from KIWU. The department has also been designated as a 4-year course department in 2013, which took effect from 2015, acquiring the "5-year certificate" in the nurse training certificate evaluation implemented by the Korea Accreditation Board of Nursing Education (designated by the Ministry of Education) for all 4-year departments of nursing science in Korea.

Career after
graduation

Graduates can acquiring a nurse's license to work as clinical nurse, maternity nurse, industrial nurse, public official in nursing/public health fields, nursing specialist, or research nurse. They can also choose to attend graduate school or become a nursing teacher if they took the teacher training course, too.
