The department provides academic foundations needed to be a childcare teacher and practical training at the childcare agencies based on theoretical and philosophical basis. The courses encompassing major, liberal arts, and teaching classes including hands-on practices ensure that the students gain overall understanding of childcare and teaching. In addition, KIWU’s own annexed kindergarten allows the students to observe the children for better understanding of the teaching tasks and to learn practical knowledge needed to be excellent childcare teachers.

Graduates can work in child education-related field as specialized teachers of public/private day care centers and kindergartens, children’s consulting teachers, dedicated teachers for children’s museums, etc.
